– January 22, 2009 –At the upcoming 2009 Learning Technologies
Conference (January 28 – 29) in London, OutStart will highlight how
learners can use OutStart’s solution set to develop, manage, maintain,
deliver and access a wide array of formal and informal learning
(including courses, assessments, surveys, best practices, experts
on-demand, blogs and videos) from popular wireless mobile devices.
Additionally, OutStart customer Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander Paul
Pine and OutStart Vice President of Marketing Jeff Whitney will present
innovative strategies and best practices for developing, managing,
maintaining and delivering learning and knowledge in two, separate presentations.
Mobile Learning

Speakers
Lt Cdr Pine’s speech is titled
“Managing Content for Great Learning Impact.” Attendees can hear his
remarks (part of Track 1, Session 4) on January 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the
Olympia 2 conference center in London.
• Lt Cdr Pine, who overseas the development of training for the Royal Navy’s new
Type 45 Daring Class destroyer, will showcase how the OutStart LCMS
personalized training for each sailor and officer, which reduced the
time it took trainees to gain proficiency on various weapons systems.
Lt Cdr Pine will also speak to how the LCMS boosted the production rate
of training through reuse of content and enabled collaboration on the
design of learning.
Mr. Whitney’s presentation – titled “The Collision of Learning &
Business: How to turn formal and informal learning into a top
priority” – will begin on January 28 at 2:00 p.m. on the Exhibition
Floor, Theater 2 of Olympia 2.
• Mr. Whitney will highlight how Learning & Development groups
are: proving their strategic importance by helping their organizations
become more agile in responding to market changes; enabling people to
perform their jobs more effectively through formal and informal
