Boston
– January 28, 2009 – OutStart, the global leader in formal learning,
informal learning and social software, congratulates American
Management Association (AMA), a world leader in talent development and
performance-based learning solutions, for receiving two “Best of
Elearning!” Awards for 2008 based on content developed, managed, and
maintained with OutStart LCMS.
Elearning! Magazine’s awards program recognized AMA for excellence
in the Best Leadership Training category for its Advanced Executive
Leadership course and in the Best Soft Skills Content category for its
Blended Learning: Business Skills course. AMA developed the content
for these courses by using the OutStart LCMS – ForceTen Module, a
learning content management system (LCMS) for automating the
development, management, maintenance and delivery of modular training.
“This is the second year in a row that AMA has received Best of
Elearning! Awards, and we congratulate AMA on its accomplishments,”
said Massood Zarrabian, chief executive officer for OutStart. “We are
honored to be a partner with AMA.”
“AMA is proud of its 2008 Best of Elearning! Awards,” says Nick
Igneri, director, Learning Technologies for AMA. “Having decided a few
years ago to take a strategic approach to learning content management,
by implementing OutStart LCMS, we have been able to spend less time
managing and maintaining our learning content and more time on
developing, measuring and distributing quality courses to
organizations.”
AMA develops award winning courses by integrating interactive
components like, Flash, video, and multiple choice questions, among
others, to ensure learners stay interested throughout the learning
process. They also opt for blended learning and prescriptive learning
approaches. Blended learning combines both classroom and online
training programs to maximize effectiveness for the learner, while
ensuring maximum cost-effectiveness for the organization. Prescriptive
learning tests students before a course to have them test-out, having
already mastered that knowledge, or to have the student focus on
specific components of the course where knowledge is not yet mastered.
AMA also provides measurement data to its clients to gauge the
effectiveness of the training. Using the Kirkpatrick model as a basis,
AMA measures both level 2 and level 3 evaluations (pre- and
post-assessments) with the help of the assessment and reporting
capabilities in OutStart LCMS. By capturing and reporting on this
information, AMA is able to monitor the effectiveness of its courses
and update or adjust content as needed to ensure it is providing the
best training to its customers.
